BLUES TIME is a blues rock band formed in 2018 in Ourense (Galicia). First album was released for the first time a year later in October: BLUES TIME album.

Lucas Rodicio

Lucas Rodicio (Allariz, 1993) began his guitar studies at the age of thirteen in a self-taught way. Soon, he decided to dedicate more time to his passion attending regular classes with teachers such as Fernando Calvo (Los Suaves), Jose Rubio (Warcry) or David Cid.

After working in different academies and schools – La Casa de la Música, Templo 118, Guillelme Brown, Academia Kontrapunto and Escola de Música de Trasmiras –, and playing in various formations, he decided to create BLUES TIME, recording then their first album: BLUES TIME album.

Over the years he has been part of several bands such as TABú, Mary Swing Band, La Sombra, Barra Libre, Os tres porquiños, Menage á trois, Gargantúa, Sloe Gin and Grupo Nazaret, and accompanied artists such as Daniel Minimalia or David Prado.

Daniel Alejandro López

Daniel Alejandro López (Caracas, 1997) began his violin studies at the age of six at the Emil Friedman Music Conservatory, where he studied the elementary and higher degrees of violin with Mariana Utrera and Iván Pérez.

While studying at the conservatory he played as a soloist with Virtuosi de Caracas, Arcos juveniles de Caracas and the guitarist Aquiles Báez. In 2014 he emigrated to Galicia, where he began to train as a self-taught vocalist and guitarist.

Daniel was the last member to join BLUES TIMEand he currently participates in the group The Vest Blues Band as a singer, and in Os dous porquinhos as singer, violinist and percussionist too.

Xabi Cid

Xabi Cid (Allariz, 1995) began drum lessons with Aser Álvarez at the age of seven, joining, at the age of eight, the Professional Conservatory of Music of Ourense. After finishing the Elementary Degree, he decided to go on with the Professional Degree of Classical Percussion with Martirio Domenech, Darío González and Marcos Vázquez.

In 2013 he moved to A Coruña to get specialized in jazz drums at the Superior Conservatory of A Coruña, where he would finish his drum studies in 2018 under the guidance of Fernando Llorca.

While studying the degree he played in some bands such as TABú, Gargantúa, Menage a Trois, Maestro, CSM Coruña Big Band, Gerson Tineo Trío, and BLUES TIME. In addition, Xabi has teaching at different academic centres – Pulsar Rock School and Escola da Asociación Musical de Allariz.

Efrén Nóvoa

Efrén Nóvoa (Ourense, 1990) began his studies of electric bass at the age of fourteen, attending private lessons with Ourense’s bassist David Cid, combining later these studies with university ones.

In 2014, already settled in A Coruña, he attended classes on electric bass and double bass with Quique Alvarado and on harmony and improvisation with Sergio Delgado. Two years later, he entered the Higher Conservatory of Music in A Coruña, specialising himself in Jazz electric bass, where he currently continues these studies under the tutelage of Kin García.

Throughout his musical career he has accompanied and recorded music for numerous groups of various styles – rock, funk, pop, jazz, folk, or fusion. Coanhadeira, Carlos Barruso Quintet, C.S.M. A Coruña Big Band, MCarballo, Daniel Minimalia, Five Coincidences and BLUES TIMEare some of those bands. In addition, he has attended different classes and masterclasses of musicians of national and international standing: Jonh Stowell, Elliot Zigmoud, Chris Cheek, Giulio Martino, Francesco d´Erico and Pablo Castaño among others.

Kinhos Saburido

Kinhos Saburido (Ourense, 1987) began in the world of music when he was five years old in the bagpipe band “A Follateira”. Later, he joined the Castro Floxo Collective in Ourense where he began to learn traditional percussion with José Carlos Pérez Paz. He also began studies at the Conservatory of Ourense, combining classical teaching with traditional percussion.

Today he teaches at several institutions: at the Traditional Music School of Ourense “AOFT GOMES MOURO”, at the TEMPO 118 academy, and at the CP Guillelme Brown music school.

Apart from teaching, he collaborates as a drummer and percussionist in the projects Coanhadeira, Daniel Minimalia, Emilio Rúa, Linho do Cuco, Fiandola, Lobos do Espacio and BLUES TIMEamong others.

As a traditional percussionist he has won numerous awards, not only in quartets but also as accompanist for solo bagpipers. Among others: the Ponteareas Quartets contest, the “Manuel Villanueva” Memorial and the “Manuel Texo” Memorial (Vedra) stand out, being one of the most awarded percussionists in Galicia in the last ten years.
